Bose Elementary School announced on April 15 that it will hold Camp Read S’more, a family-oriented literacy event, on Tuesday, April 28 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at its campus located at 1900 15th St.

The event is designed for Bose elementary students and their families to engage in reading activities together. Organizers say the evening will include opportunities to practice phonics, build foundational reading skills, and participate in camping-themed literacy exercises. Attendees can also expect hands-on activities that blend reading with art, games, and outdoor adventures. A family meal and a s’more station are also planned as part of the program.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, Bose Elementary School enrolled a total of 256 students during the 2023-24 school year. This reflects a decrease of about 5.5% compared to the previous academic year according to state data.

Families interested in attending are encouraged to register for Camp Read S’more ahead of time. For questions regarding the program or registration process, individuals may contact Kenosha Unified School District’s Community Relations Department by email at engage@kusd.edu or by phone at (262) 359-2256.

Camp Read S’more aims to provide an opportunity for families and students alike to connect through educational activities outside regular classroom hours.
