The City of Kenosha announced on April 3 that it will provide curbside pickup for brush and debris following severe weather that affected neighborhoods on the night of April 2.
The cleanup is being coordinated by the departments of Public Works and Parks, whose crews will survey impacted areas in the coming days. Residents are asked to place branches and debris neatly at the curb, making sure not to block sidewalks, roadways, or storm drains. The city said crews will collect these materials as scheduling allows.
Residents should separate non-brush debris from other items placed at the curb. According to city officials, non-brush debris will be collected separately early next week. The city expressed appreciation for residents’ cooperation during ongoing cleanup efforts and provided a contact number (262-653-4050) for further information.
Additionally, the Municipal Building is closed Friday, April 3 in observance of Good Friday. The Compost/Brush Drop-Off Site at 4071 88th Ave. opens for the season on Monday, April 6 with hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday except holidays. This site is free for City of Kenosha residents who provide proper identification; commercial disposal or dumping by contractors is not permitted.
The Bulk & Recycling Drop-Off Site at 1001 50th St. will also open Monday, April 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with regular hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or until dumpsters are full, and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until dumpsters are full.
