Several elementary schools will host the Cinnamon “Roll” Models event for students and their chosen mentors before school on April 28, 29, 30, and May 1. The announcement was made on Mar. 27. The event aims to provide a morning of cinnamon rolls, simple activities, and conversation to celebrate important role models in students’ lives.
The program is designed to encourage connection between students and the adults who guide them. Organizers say that participants can select from multiple dates and locations based on what works best for their schedules.
The events will take place at Chavez Elementary (6300 27th Ave.) and Nash Elementary (6801 99th Ave.) at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28; Frank Elementary (1816 57th St.), LakeView K-8 (6729 18th Ave.), and Brass Elementary (6400 15th Ave.) at various times on Wednesday, April 29; Grewenow Elementary (7714 20th Ave.) at 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 30; and KSOL (6315 67th St.), Bose Elementary School (1900 15th St.), Southport Elementary (723 76th St.), as well as Pleasant Prairie School (9208 Wilmot Road) starting at different times on Friday, May 1.
Bose Elementary School enrolled a total of 256 students in the current school year. This reflects a 5.5% decrease from the previous year according to state education data.
