A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to Kenosha County, Wisconsin, on September 26, 2024. The request pertains to vendor payments made by the county from January 1, 2024, through September 26, 2024.

As a media organization committed to comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Kenosha Reporter are seeking access to these public records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq. We have specifically requested the records in an electronic format for ease of analysis and reporting.

The information sought includes a list of all payments made to vendors within the specified period. For each transaction, we have asked for details such as the vendor’s name, the date of the transaction, a description of what the transaction was for, and the amount paid.

Access to these public records is essential for us at Kenosha Reporter as it allows us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to our readers. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.

We will continue with our commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. As always, we appreciate your support in helping us achieve this goal.
