FOIA Request to Village of Paddock Lake Regarding List of New Registrations Voters on November 5, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Kenosha Reporter have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Village of Paddock Lake. The request, sent on November 7, 2024, seeks access to public records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq.

Specifically, we are requesting a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. Access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

Given our role in disseminating information as a media organization, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. We eagerly await the response from the Village of Paddock Lake and will continue our efforts in reporting news that serves the public interest.
