FOIA Request to Village Of Salem Lakes Regarding Same Day Registered Voters in Wisconsin 2024 Election on November 7, 2024.

In a recent effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Kenosha Reporter have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for records of new voters who registered on the day of the election – November 5, 2024.

As a media organization committed to transparency and holding public institutions accountable, access to such public records is crucial for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We believe that this information will help us shed light on the election process and voter turnout in the region.

We have requested these records preferably in an electronic format for ease of analysis and dissemination. Given our role as a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional.

We are currently awaiting response from the Village Of Salem Lakes regarding this request.
