Kenosha County will hold its annual Veterans Breakfast and Resource Fair on Saturday, November 2, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Kenosha County Job Center. County Executive Samantha Kerkman announced that the event is free and open to all community members, with doors opening at 8:30 a.m.
The breakfast, sponsored by Piasecki Funeral Home, aims to honor those who have served in the U.S. military. The program includes military honors, the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner, and informational booths from various vendors. Free haircuts will be provided by student barbers from Gateway Technical College.
“This event kicks off a series of Veterans Day events that will be held throughout the county over the following days,” Kerkman said. “I encourage veterans, their families — and anyone who supports our veterans — to join us for breakfast, fellowship, and an informative resource fair.”
Following this event, several other Veterans Day programs are scheduled across Kenosha County:
– Gateway Technical College will host a Cut-A-Thon for veterans on November 4 at its salons on campus and a Veterans Honor Dinner on November 12.

These activities reflect ongoing support for veterans within the county’s diverse community. In the most recent school year, Kenosha County schools had more than 25,000 students enrolled; white students made up about half of this population while Hispanic students represented roughly one quarter—the second largest group—and Black students accounted for just over ten percent (https://dpi.wi.gov/). American Indian students were among the least represented ethnic groups in local schools (https://dpi.wi.gov/).
