Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman announced that “Human Services on the Go” pop-up events will provide western Kenosha County residents with access to various county services and resources in March. The announcement was made in a press release on March 4, 2025.
According to the press release, the “Human Services on the Go” events will be held on March 18 at Twin Lakes Community Library and March 20 at Salem Lakes Community Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering residents access to county resources. Representatives from Aging & Disability Services, Behavioral Health Services, Public Health, and Veterans Services will provide information and assistance, including general aging and disability resources, medication lockboxes, asthma education, Narcan training, immunization details, and veterans’ benefits guidance. These services are typically available at the Kenosha County Job Center.
“We’re excited to bring these services into the communities on the west end,” said Kerkman. “I encourage residents to join us for this convenient opportunity to learn about the services that the county provides for people of all ages.”
The Kenosha County Department of Human Services aims to provide a comprehensive network of support for children, families, the elderly, and individuals facing developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, or substance use issues. Its goals include strengthening families while ensuring child safety, promoting economic self-sufficiency, delivering essential public health services, supporting military veterans, and offering quality nursing home care. The department also advocates for these populations at local, state, and national levels.
Kenosha County is overseen by elected officials including a county executive and a 23-member board of supervisors. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, the county borders Racine County, Lake Michigan, Illinois, and Walworth County. Its mission is to enhance community well-being through efficient services that support residents and economic development. Kerkman was elected in 2022 as the county executive. The county board represents districts of approximately 7,300 residents each and functions as the legislative body by holding meetings and maintaining committees to address governance matters.
