Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman announced on March 23 that Brighton Dale Links and Petrifying Springs Golf Course will open for the 2026 season starting Tuesday, March 24.

The opening of these public golf courses marks a new season for local golfers, following a record-setting year in which more than 121,000 rounds were played at both facilities. These numbers surpassed previous records from the prior year and reflect the continued popularity of golf in Kenosha County.

“Last year was record season for play at our outstanding golf courses, and we’re looking forward to another great year,” Kerkman said. “Kenosha County is proud to offer two of the most sought-after destinations for golfers in our region.”

Brighton Dale Links features a total of 45 holes, including its nine-hole Red Pine course as well as an enhanced driving range and putting green updated in 2025. The facility also offers Blue Spruce and White Birch, both of which are full-length eighteen-hole courses. Petrifying Springs Golf Course provides an eighteen-hole layout with scenic views and a historic clubhouse dating back to 1936.

“It’s our aim to offer a premier golfing experience for Kenosha County residents and visitors alike,” Golf Director Jim Wallace said. “We’re excited to welcome golfers back to our two terrific facilities.”

While Kenosha County’s golf amenities attract many residents each spring, data from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction show that education remains central within the county. The top three schools by enrollment during the 2023-24 school year were Indian Trail High School and Academy with over two thousand students, followed by Tremper High School and Bradford High School according to state data. In terms of student demographics during this period, white students comprised just over half (55.6%) of all enrollees as reported by state figures, while Hispanic students represented about one-quarter (25.7%), making them the second largest group; Black students made up just over ten percent (10.4%) according to official statistics.

Other groups included American Indian students at just two-tenths of one percent (0.2%), multiracial students at six-point-six percent (6.6%), and Pacific Islander students—the least represented—at one-tenth of one percent (0.1%) as noted by state reports.
