Kenosha County has announced the closure of a section of Highway ML in Pleasant Prairie for culvert replacement work. The closure will occur daily starting April 14, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is expected to last until April 24, though this timeline may be adjusted based on weather conditions. Drivers are advised to use Highway 165 as an alternative route during this period.

According to Kenosha County, the Kenosha County Division of Highways is tasked with maintaining a safe and efficient highway system throughout the county. Its mission includes adapting to changing conditions by employing procedural and technical methods to deliver reliable public service in a cost-effective manner. The division collaborates closely with other municipalities to ensure a well-functioning transportation network.

The Kenosha County Public Works Department manages various services that support infrastructure, recreation, facilities, and community development. It operates in partnership with Extension Kenosha County, which provides educational outreach alongside the University of Wisconsin. Additionally, the Facilities Division maintains public buildings and grounds; the Golf Division oversees two championship courses; the Highways Division handles road maintenance and policy planning; the Parks Division manages over 1,500 acres of parkland; and Planning & Development promotes sustainable land use and economic growth.

Kenosha County is governed by elected officials, including a county executive and a 23-member board of supervisors. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, it borders Racine County, Lake Michigan, Illinois, and Walworth County. The county’s mission is to enhance community well-being through efficient services that support residents and economic development. The county board functions as the legislative body for districts representing approximately 7,300 residents each.
