Kenosha County Clerk Regi Waligora announced that her office will hold a Special Event Passport Day on Saturday, March 22, at the Kenosha County Center in Bristol. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and no appointments are required.

The passport day is intended for U.S. citizens planning international travel who need to apply for a passport. Applications for first-time applicants and minors will be accepted on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. On-site services include passport photos and access to a Spanish-language translator.

The Kenosha County Center is located at 19600 75th St., at the intersection of highways 45 and 50.

“As many families are preparing for spring break and summer travel plans, this is a great opportunity for the County Clerk’s Office to bring a valuable service to our residents in the western portion of our county,” Waligora said. “If you are unable to attend the Special Event Passport Day, we process passport applications daily at our downtown location. Please contact the office to schedule an appointment.”

Walk-ins will be assisted on a first-come, first-served basis during the event. Applicants can download forms in advance from the U.S. Department of State website at travel.state.gov.

For more information about applications, fees, payment requirements, or necessary documentation, people may contact the Kenosha County Clerk’s Office by phone or email.

“It helps to speed up the application process if the forms are completed prior to attending the event, but we will also have forms available on-site,” Waligora said.

Waligora also noted that other offices at the County Center—including access to vital records—will not be open during Passport Day.

She cautioned applicants not to pay for any passport application when downloading them online: “You may also contact the County Clerk’s office and we will email you the correct application form,” Waligora said. “There are fees to apply, but there are not fees for copies of the passport application itself.”

More details about applying for a U.S. Passport can be found on the Kenosha County website.

According to data from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, Kenosha County schools had an enrollment of over 25,000 students in 2023-24 with Hispanic students representing about one quarter (25.7%) of all students—the second largest group after white students—highlighting potential demand for Spanish-language translation services offered during events such as Passport Day.
