Kenosha County will hold its annual Veterans Breakfast and Resource Fair on Saturday, November 1, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Kenosha County Job Center. The event is open to the public, with doors opening at 8:30 a.m., according to County Executive Samantha Kerkman.
The breakfast, sponsored by Piasecki Funeral Home, will be served at 9:15 a.m. The program will also include military honors and the playing of the national anthem. A resource fair featuring informational vendors and free haircuts provided by Gateway Technical College student barbers will run throughout the morning.
“It’s an honor to celebrate with our veterans and their supporters at this event every year, and it’s a wonderful kickoff to the series of ceremonies and programs that follow on Veterans Day and in the days leading up to it,” Kerkman said.

These events reflect participation from various community organizations and schools across Kenosha County. During the current school year (2023–24), Indian Trail High School and Academy had the highest enrollment among county schools with over two thousand students. Tremper High School and Bradford High School followed closely behind in student numbers (https://dpi.wi.gov/).
Kenosha County schools serve more than twenty-five thousand students. In this population, white students account for just over half (55.6%), while Hispanic students represent about one quarter (25.7%)—the second largest group—and Black students make up roughly ten percent (10.4%) (https://dpi.wi.gov/). American Indian students remain among the least represented groups within county schools at just two-tenths of one percent (https://dpi.wi.gov/).
These demographic details provide context for understanding community engagement during these upcoming Veterans Day events.
