Kenosha County is seeking applicants to fill the 5th District County Board seat after the resignation of Supervisor Brian Thomas, effective July 1. The announcement was made by County Clerk Regi Waligora.
Residents of the district who are interested in serving can now apply for the position. The 5th District covers the northwest side of the City of Kenosha. Applicants must be residents and qualified electors within this district. A map outlining the district boundaries is available online at bit.ly/KCDist5.
The appointed individual will serve until a successor is elected during the spring nonpartisan election in 2025. County Board supervisors attend board meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7:30 p.m., and typically participate in several committees, which require a commitment of four to five evenings per month. The annual compensation for this role is $6,526.
Applications can be accessed online at bit.ly/KCBoardApplication or picked up at the County Clerk’s Office in the Administration Building located at 1010 56th St., Kenosha. Completed applications must be submitted to the County Board chairman, care of the county clerk, by 5 p.m. on July 22. Submissions are accepted in person, via U.S. Postal Service, or by email to [email protected].
Applicants will undergo interviews before an appointment is made at the August 6 County Board meeting.
For further information, individuals may contact the County Clerk’s Office at 262-653-2552.
