Kenosha County is seeking applicants to fill the 5th District County Board seat following the resignation of Supervisor Brian Thomas, effective July 1. The announcement was made by County Clerk Regi Waligora.
Residents interested in the position must live within the district, which is located on the northwest side of the City of Kenosha. A map of the district can be found online at bit.ly/KCDist5. Applicants must also be qualified electors.
The appointed supervisor will serve until a successor is elected during the spring nonpartisan election in 2025. Duties include attending board meetings held at 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays each month and participating in multiple committees, requiring a commitment of four to five evenings per month. The annual salary for this position is $6,526.

Kenosha County schools had a total enrollment of over 25,000 students during the 2023-24 school year, with Indian Trail High School and Academy being the largest school by enrollment. White students comprised just over half of all students in Kenosha County schools that year; Hispanic and Black students were respectively the second and third largest groups among enrolled students according to state data (https://dpi.wi.gov/).
