Families joined officers from the Kenosha Police Department at Washington Middle School for Family Forensic Night on March 17, where they learned about evidence collection and analysis. The event offered a hands-on experience that allowed participants to engage in investigative activities alongside law enforcement.

The purpose of the evening was to bring science to life for families by letting them practice skills such as critical thinking, observation, and teamwork—skills used daily by real investigators. Organizers said the collaboration between families and police aimed to strengthen community ties while providing educational value.

Indian Trail High School and Academy had the largest student enrollment among Kenosha County schools during the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 2,001 students, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. This figure also represents a 1.1% increase from the previous year’s enrollment numbers at Indian Trail High School and Academy, as reported by the same source.

The event highlighted the importance of community partnerships in education. Organizers thanked both their community partners and all attending families for making the evening successful.

Looking ahead, continued collaboration between schools, law enforcement, and local families is expected to support educational initiatives that connect classroom learning with real-world experiences.
