Kenosha Unified announced on Mar. 10 a partnership with Kenosha Spiritwear to offer families the opportunity to celebrate educational milestones by purchasing yard signs. The initiative allows families to recognize achievements such as 5th grade promotion, 8th grade promotion, and high school graduation, while also supporting local schools.

The program aims to foster school pride and community involvement. A portion of each yard sign purchase will be directed back to the specific school, helping fund student programs and activities. Orders can be placed through Kenosha Spiritwear until Thursday, April 30.

Brass Community School is among the schools participating in this effort. The school promotes multicultural diversity and equitable opportunities for all students, according to the official website. It is located in a building constructed on the former site of the American Brass Company, as reported by the official website.

The school’s mission is to motivate every child to reach their highest academic and social potential within a secure and inclusive environment, according to the official website. Brass Community School also adopts the motto of working together and expecting excellence, as stated on its official website.

In addition, Brass Community School develops partnerships with organizations for mentoring programs, reading initiatives, and family involvement efforts, according to its official website. The school offers preschool sessions that provide specialized instruction in literacy and math, as described by the official website.

This yard sign initiative reflects ongoing efforts by Kenosha Unified and its partner schools like Brass Community School to engage families and support student achievement.
