Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD) has announced the DECA Spring Festival at Indian Trail High School and Academy, scheduled for April 12. The event will offer food, games, and activities. This announcement was made in a press release on March 14, 2025.
According to the release, the DECA Spring Festival will take place at Indian Trail Commons from 9-11 a.m. It will feature an egg race, craft stations, photo opportunities, raffles, prizes, and food sales. Entry is free, with proceeds supporting students attending the International Career Development Conference.
The DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC), set for April 26-29, 2025, in Orlando, Florida, is described as the pinnacle event for DECA members. It brings together over 23,000 students, educators, and business professionals. The conference includes competitive events where more than 10,000 students demonstrate their career and business skills. Additionally, it features an Emerging Leader Series focused on 21st-century skills and a college and career exhibit with over 100 institutions and businesses. Other highlights include the School-based Enterprise Academy and professional learning opportunities for advisors.
Indian Trail High School & Academy provides two educational options for Grades 9-12: a traditional high school and the Indian Trail Academy. The academy offers four career-focused academies—Medical Sciences, Business, Kenosha Military, and Communications—and requires students to apply through a lottery system. Traditional students must reside within the school’s boundary.
The Kenosha Unified School District was established in 1967 and serves southeastern Wisconsin’s City of Kenosha, Village of Pleasant Prairie, and Town and Village of Somers. It operates multiple educational institutions including elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, charter schools, choice schools, a specialty school, and a Head Start center. The district has an enrollment of approximately 19,069 students with an annual operational expenditure around $304 million.
