Elementary students and their families are invited to attend a literacy event called “Booked for Dinner: A Family Book Tasting Event” on March 26. The event will take place at Pleasant Prairie Elementary, located at 9208 Wilmot Road, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore different book genres, learn how to sign up for a library card, understand the benefits of reading together as a family, and find out about simple ways to encourage reading at home. A light meal will be provided during the evening.

The event is open to everyone interested in family education programs. Families who are not part of Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD) and other community members must join the Family Education Programs Community Group in order to register for this event. Once registered with the group, participants will receive updates and can sign up for future events without needing to rejoin.

Indian Trail High School and Academy had the highest student enrollment among Kenosha County schools during the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 2,001 students. This figure represents a 1.1% increase from the previous year according to data from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (https://dpi.wi.gov/).

For more information or to register for “Booked for Dinner,” families can visit the appropriate registration site or contact Pleasant Prairie Elementary.
