Kenosha County will hold a public involvement meeting on September 3 regarding proposed improvements to the Highway C bridge and its approaches at the Des Plaines River crossing in Pleasant Prairie. The meeting is scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Prairie Village Hall, located at 9915 39th Ave., and will follow an open house format.
Representatives from Kenosha County and engineering consultant AECOM will be available to answer questions and discuss ideas with attendees. Community members with concerns or input are encouraged to attend or contact project staff.
The proposed work would cover approximately 1,250 feet and require acquiring right of way, including land from the Des Plaines River open space area. The current bridge has several areas of concrete deterioration, such as cracking and spalling.
“If a build alternative is selected, construction would likely occur starting in late 2027 through 2028,” according to information provided by the county.
For more details about the project, individuals can reach out to Matt Krippner at 608-334-3850 or Gregory Boldt, Kenosha County Highway Director, at 262-857-1870.
