The Shalom Center announced on Apr. 2 that its Annual Celebration Gala will be held on Thursday, May 7, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Stella Ballroom in Kenosha. The event aims to bring the community together in support of efforts to address homelessness and hunger locally.
The gala is intended to raise awareness and funds for ongoing programs that provide food, shelter, and guidance in Kenosha County. According to the Shalom Center’s official website, the organization supports self-sufficiency and addresses community needs through various shelter and food programs according to the official website.
Esther Roberts, Executive Director of the Shalom Center, said, “Our Annual Celebration is a chance for us to express our gratitude. It is also an opportunity for everyone to better understand our cause, and to meet the individuals who are at the core of our mission. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!”
The evening will include a social hour, a buffet dinner with vegetarian options, and a live auction where bids contribute directly toward providing shelter nights and meals. Tickets are available in advance only for $125 each through the center’s website.
In addition to its annual events, the Shalom Center operates several key services in Kenosha County: it features HOPE HUB as a resource center offering housing assistance; it runs what it describes as the largest food pantry in Kenosha County; and it provides what it states is the only homeless shelter in Kenosha County according to its official website. The organization seeks to enhance self-sufficiency by offering supportive initiatives such as food distribution and housing support according to its official website.
All proceeds from this year’s gala will benefit these ongoing programs serving residents throughout Kenosha County.
