Kenosha County Clerk Regi Waligora announced that a Special Event Passport Day will be held on Saturday, March 22, at the Kenosha County Center in Bristol. The event is open to U.S. citizens who are planning international travel and need to apply for their passports. Applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and no appointments are required.

Passport applications for first-time applicants and minors will be processed on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. On-site passport photo services and a Spanish-language translator will be available during the event.

The Kenosha County Center is located at 19600 75th St., at the intersection of highways 45 and 50.

“As many families are preparing for spring break and summer travel plans, this is a great opportunity for the County Clerk’s Office to bring a valuable service to our residents in the western portion of our county.” Waligora said. “If you are unable to attend the Special Event Passport Day, we process passport applications daily at our downtown location. Please contact the office to schedule an appointment.”

Walk-ins will be assisted on a first-come, first-served basis during the event. Applicants can access forms ahead of time on the U.S. Department of State website at travel.state.gov.

For questions about fees, payment methods, documentation requirements, or to obtain application forms, people may contact the Kenosha County Clerk’s Office by phone or email.

“It helps to speed up the application process if the forms are completed prior to attending the event, but we will also have forms available on-site,” Waligora said.

Waligora noted that other offices within the County Center—including those providing access to vital records—will not be open during this Saturday passport event.

She also cautioned applicants not to pay for passport application forms online: “You may also contact the County Clerk’s office and we will email you the correct application form,” Waligora said. “There are fees to apply, but there are not fees for copies of the passport application itself.”

Additional information about applying for a U.S. Passport can be found on both travel.state.gov and www.kenoshacounty.org/141/Passport.

Kenosha County schools serve a diverse student population; in 2023-24 white students made up just over half (55.6%) of enrollment while Hispanic students accounted for more than one-quarter (25.7%), making them the second largest group among local students according to data from https://dpi.wi.gov/. Black students represented just over ten percent (10.4%) of enrollment that year as well.
