Kenosha County Clerk Regi Waligora announced that a Special Event Passport Day will take place on Saturday, March 22, at the Kenosha County Center in Bristol. The event is intended to help U.S. citizens planning international travel by allowing them to apply for passports between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., without the need for an appointment.
Applications for first-time applicants and minors will be accepted on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. On-site services will include passport photos and a Spanish-language translator.
The Kenosha County Center is located at 19600 75th St., at the intersection of highways 45 and 50.
“As many families are preparing for spring break and summer travel plans, this is a great opportunity for the County Clerk’s Office to bring a valuable service to our residents in the western portion of our county,” Waligora said. “If you are unable to attend the Special Event Passport Day, we process passport applications daily at our downtown location. Please contact the office to schedule an appointment.”
Walk-in applicants at the March 22 event will be assisted on a first-come, first-served basis. Forms can be accessed ahead of time through the U.S. Department of State website at travel.state.gov.
Residents may also reach out to the Kenosha County Clerk’s Office by phone or email for information about applications, fees, payment methods, required documents, and other details.
“It helps to speed up the application process if the forms are completed prior to attending the event, but we will also have forms available on-site,” Waligora said.
Other offices within the County Center, such as the Elected Officials Satellite Office, will not be open during this Saturday passport event and will not provide access to vital records.
Waligora cautioned against paying for passport application forms online: “You may also contact the County Clerk’s office and we will email you the correct application form,” she said. “There are fees to apply, but there are not fees for copies of the passport application itself.”
Further information about applying for a U.S. Passport is available on Kenosha County’s website at www.kenoshacounty.org/141/Passport.
