4

Town Of Somers issued the following announcement on Oct. 8

The Somers Fire and Rescue Department paid a visit to Busy Bee’s Child Care Center in Somers on Oct. 6, 2021.

The children were delighted to see the department’s fire truck and ambulance up close.

Firefighters taught them some basic fire safety like “Stop, Drop, and Roll,” what smoke detector sound like and what it means.

They also had the chance to meet a special friend, Somers Sparky, the official mascot of the National Fire Protection Association.

Everyone had a great time and shared a lot of laughs, said Somers Firefighter Nico Celebre.

“Thanks for having us, we can’t wait until we can come back!” he added.
