In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the Kenosha Reporter have formally requested access to specific public records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq. The request was made in electronic format for ease of dissemination and analysis.

The records we are seeking pertain to a list of FOIA logs sent to Kenosha County from January 1, 2024 till October 7, 2024. We have specifically asked for the following fields:

- Requester Name

- Requester Organization

- Request Content

- Request Date

- Request Complete Date

- FOIA Status

As a media organization, our role involves gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

We believe that given our role in disseminating information, we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional. We await a response from Kenosha County regarding this request and will continue our pursuit of transparency in local government affairs.
