Kenosha County Clerk Regi Waligora has provided an overview of pre-election voting activity and what residents can expect as Election Day approaches. As of Friday, 30,403 voters in Kenosha County participated in in-person absentee voting at local clerks' offices. Including mail-in ballots, a total of 46,009 absentee ballots have been returned, representing nearly 48% of registered voters.
The county currently has 96,128 registered voters, marking an increase of 4.6% since October 1. Over half of the new registrations are from the City of Kenosha.
While online registration ended on October 16 and pre-election registration closed last Friday, Wisconsin allows voter registration at polling places on Election Day. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. across the county and state.
Election results for Kenosha County will begin to appear on the county's website around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening as municipalities report their data. Waligora advises refreshing the page throughout the night to stay updated with incoming results.
Certain municipalities—Kenosha, Pleasant Prairie, Salem Lakes, and the Village of Somers—utilize central count facilities for processing absentee ballots rather than counting them at individual polling stations. "Votes received from these municipalities may be provided to the public in two different phases," explained Waligora.
Due to a high volume of absentee ballots this election cycle, delays in reporting may occur as ballots are processed and tallied manually when necessary. Updates regarding any such delays will be posted on the results page.
Waligora emphasizes that initial election outcomes are labeled "Unofficial Results" until reviewed by the County Board of Canvassers following Election Day.
