The Kenosha Professional Police Association (KPPA) and the City of Kenosha have reached a tentative three-year contract following what both parties described as a smooth and collaborative negotiation process. The proposed agreement is scheduled for review by the City Finance Committee and Common Council on Monday, October 6, 2025.
KPPA President Pete Deates commented on the positive atmosphere during negotiations. “These negotiations were built on respect and teamwork from day one,” Deates said. “We were able to reach an agreement quickly and fairly, which means our officers can continue focusing on serving the community we love. This agreement gives stability to our members and reassurance to the residents of Kenosha that their safety will always remain a priority.”
Mayor David Bogdala also expressed gratitude toward the police union for their partnership with city leadership. “I want to express my sincere appreciation to the Kenosha Professional Police Association for their collaboration and support,” Bogdala said. “This agreement demonstrates what can be achieved when we work together with trust and mutual respect. Public safety will always be a top priority for my administration, and I am proud to stand alongside the men and women of the Kenosha Police Department as they protect and serve our community every day.”
The new contract highlights ongoing cooperation between the police department’s administration and KPPA representatives. Members of the Kenosha Police Supervisor Officers Association (KPSOA) are set to receive equivalent benefits under this tentative agreement.
