The Village of Union Grove announced on May 1 several upcoming events and updates for residents in its May 2026 monthly newsletter.

A public hearing will be held by the Plan Commission on June 1 at the Municipal Center to discuss a proposed zoning amendment for an assisted living facility project at 1055 5th Avenue. The amendment seeks to modify setback requirements from 50 feet to 30 feet after a site plan revision revealed property boundary issues with the original plan. Residents are encouraged to attend and provide input, with updated site plans available alongside the meeting agenda.

Midwest Computer Recycling will host an electronic waste recycling event on May 9 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Municipal Center. Items accepted include computers, monitors, printers, cables, power tools, and gaming systems. Fees apply for televisions and microwaves. Residents are urged to use this opportunity for proper disposal of unwanted electronics.

The Village is also offering Yoga in the Park classes beginning June 3 through August 29 at various parks including School Yard Park and Village Square. Led by instructor Aimee Williams, sessions are open to adults and teens of all experience levels with a fee of $5 per class.

An annual Park Clean-Up event will take place as part of Earth Day celebrations on May 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., starting at School Yard Park where volunteers can receive assignments and supplies before helping clean parks throughout Union Grove.

Additionally, summer office hours for Village Hall will begin the week of May 26 through August 31, operating Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Union Grove Water Utility has published its annual Consumer Confidence Report for water quality testing results in compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Natural Resources (DNR) regulations. All test results were within allowable limits for regulated contaminants according to the report available on the Village website.
