United Way of Kenosha County announced on April 29 that David Maurer has been named Interim Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of CEO Carolynn Friesch. Maurer will assume his new role on May 18.

The transition comes as the organization seeks to maintain stability and continue its work in supporting local families. The Board of Directors said Maurer’s experience within the United Way network and his understanding of community impact work were key factors in his appointment.

“We are grateful for Mr. Maurer’s willingness to step in once again during this important time for our organization,” said Board President Tanya Ruder. “His past service and familiarity with United Way of Kenosha County make him an excellent fit. We are confident he will provide the steady leadership needed during this transition.”

The Board also announced it has begun a formal search process for a permanent CEO, aiming to ensure strong leadership for the future and continued progress toward its mission.

United Way of Kenosha County stated it remains focused on youth opportunity, financial security, healthy community, and resiliency efforts as it moves through this period of change. The organization plans to share updates as the search progresses, encouraging interested candidates to apply through Indeed.
