On October 27, the Village Board in Union Grove approved a new five-year contract with Waste Management for waste and recycling services. Waste Management will begin providing these services on January 1, 2026, taking over from John’s Disposal.
Under the new contract, weekly trash collection and bi-weekly recycling pickup will continue as before. The Village plans to provide more details in the coming weeks regarding any changes to collection days or pickup times.
In December, John’s Disposal will remove its current trash and recycling carts from households. Waste Management will then deliver new carts to all residences before service starts in January.
The Village stated that further updates about the transition will be shared as the date approaches. Residents with questions are encouraged to contact Village Hall at 262-878-1818.
“We will share more information in the coming weeks about any changes to collection days or pickup times,” according to a statement from the Village.
