Lincoln Park Live Music Series continues July 27

The Lincoln Park Live Music Series continues Wednesday July 27 with The  Tropics Reggae band performing at 6 p.m. The free concerts take place at the Lincoln Park  Flower Garden, 6900 18th Ave., with grounds opening at 5 p.m.  Led by guitarist and vocalist Mike Dangeroux, the Tropics Reggae band is a five-piece  Chicago based high-tempo group that combines Jamaican native styles with elements of  rock, rhythm and blues, jazz, calypso, African and Latin American music.  Music continues August 10 with The Southport Sound taking the stage at 6 p.m. playing big  band classics, followed by Latin Jazz and New Orleans Brass courtesy of the Extra Crispy  Brass Band at 7:30 p.m. The last concert on August 24 features salsa, R&B and Neo Soul  with the Septeto Charambo performing at 6 p.m. and Chicken Grease closing out at 7:30 p.m. Food, soda, wine and beer are available for purchase at every show from local vendors Fry  Daddy’s and Rockitacos.  The Lincoln Park Live Music Series is presented by The Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund and the City of Kenosha. Proceeds from the free concert series support the Mahone Fund’s Career Exploration Organization (CEO) mentoring program, aiding low-to-moderate income youth in support of academic achievement, college readiness, career success and service to others while reducing the financial barriers impacting access and affordability for firstgeneration students.
