Kenosha County is currently accepting online orders for its Tree and Shrub program, which will deliver in the spring. The initiative allows residents to purchase transplants and seedlings of various evergreens, hardwoods, and shrubs. These plants are available in bundles of 25 for $28 each.
The program aims to encourage local residents and property owners to plant native trees to enhance conservation efforts and wildlife habitats. "This is a great, low-cost opportunity for people to add trees and shrubs to their property, further beautifying our county," stated County Executive Samantha Kerkman.
Orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, with customers required to pick up their purchases. The pick-up date usually falls in late April at the Kenosha County Center in Bristol. Customers will receive a confirmation email about two weeks prior to the scheduled pick-up date.
For more information or to access the online store directly, individuals can visit the program's website. Due to limited inventory, interested parties are advised to place orders promptly.
Those without Internet access can buy trees and shrubs using a credit card in person at the Kenosha County Division of Planning and Development office located at 19600 75th St., Bristol. The office operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
