The City of Kenosha has announced that trick-or-treat hours for 2025 will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 31. The city will continue its policy of scheduling trick-or-treat activities on Halloween Day. Residents who wish to participate are encouraged to signal their involvement by turning on a porch or front yard light.
Officials have issued a reminder for drivers to exercise caution and reduce speed during the designated trick-or-treat hours in order to help prevent accidents.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has provided several safety recommendations for those participating in trick-or-treating. These include: "Eat only factory-wrapped treats. Avoid eating homemade treats made by strangers. Wear well-fitting masks, costumes and shoes to avoid blocked vision, trips and falls. Look both ways before crossing the street. Use crosswalks wherever possible. Swords, knives and other costume accessories should be short, soft and flexible. Examine all treats for choking hazards and tampering before eating them."
Additional advice includes considering the use of reflective tape on costumes to improve visibility after dark, as sunset in Kenosha is expected at 5:46 p.m. on October 31.
