Waligora reminded applicants not to pay for passport applications online, as they are available for free download on the official government website.
Waligora said, "As many families are preparing for spring break and summer travel plans, this is a great opportunity for the County Clerk’s Office to bring a valuable service to our residents in the western portion of our county." She added that if individuals are unable to attend the Special Event Passport Day, passport applications are processed daily at their downtown location and advised contacting the office to schedule an appointment.
The Kenosha County Clerk's Office is responsible for conducting federal, state, and countywide elections, managing tax-deeded property auctions, and providing public services such as marriage licenses and passports, all available by appointment. According to Kenosha County, the office strives to ensure elections run smoothly, facilitate the return of auctioned properties to the tax rolls, deliver high-quality services to residents, and support the County Board of Supervisors.
Kenosha County is overseen by elected officials including a county executive and a 23-member board of supervisors. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, it borders Racine County, Lake Michigan, Illinois, and Walworth County. Its mission is to enhance community well-being through efficient services that support residents and economic development. The county board represents districts of approximately 7,300 residents each and functions as the legislative body by holding meetings and maintaining committees to address governance matters.
