KUSD Announces Special Meeting of District Electors

Meeting41

Kenosha School District issued the following announcement on Oct. 22

Kenosha Unified will be holding a special meeting of district electors on Monday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. in response to a petition to hold a special meeting that was filed on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, containing more than 300 signatures. Signatures were verified on Monday, Oct. 18, and the district worked with legal counsel on next steps regarding the scheduling of the meeting.

Districts are required to publish a Class 2 legal notice when scheduling a special meeting of district electors. As such, the district sent a request to the Kenosha News to publish the first notice on Tuesday, Oct. 26, and the second on Monday, Nov. 1, with the meeting scheduled for Monday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m.

The special meeting of district electors will be held in the auditorium of Indian Trail High School and Academy, 6800 60th St., and is open to the public. The agenda for the special meeting of district electors will be to elect a chairperson, consideration of Robert’s Rules of Order as the rules of the meeting, and consideration of salaries for School Board members.

Members of the public who attend will be asked to show proof of identification or complete an oath of residency upon registering as a resident or non-resident and will be required to wear a mask. It is recommended that individuals arrive early in order to register prior to the 7 p.m. start of the meeting.

Citizens also may watch the meeting live via the district’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/kenoshaschools.
