KTEC Schools is planning a significant expansion for the fall of 2025, with plans to introduce new elementary and middle schools. Pending official approval, these additions will accompany KTEC High School under the collective name of KTEC Schools of Innovation. The University of Wisconsin’s Office of Educational Opportunity (OEO) will oversee the schools, which are set to be located at the Saint Mary’s School campus currently housing KTEC High School.

The initiative reflects an effort to prepare students for Wisconsin's evolving job market, driven by technology and globalization. The schools aim to provide rigorous academics and hands-on learning experiences in collaboration with local and global industry leaders such as Krones, Snap-on, Inc., Trane, Lincoln Electric, and educational institutions like Gateway Technical College.

Dr. Angela Andersson has been asked by the KTEC Schools Board of Directors to lead this expansion. She expressed enthusiasm for extending her initial vision from 17 years ago: "When I launched the initial KTEC model 17 years ago, my vision was to one day provide a seamless, STEM-focused, college and career-prep pathway from the first day of 4-year-old Kindergarten through the last day of high school."

As part of this transition, the current KTEC 4K-8 charter school at Lincoln Middle School will close on January 24, 2025. This decision follows a mutual agreement between the KTEC Governing Board and Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD). The new schools aim to continue providing high-quality education based on core values: Caring, Connecting, and Innovating.

Enrollment for the upcoming school year is now open. Interested parties can find more information or enroll by visiting ktecschools.org or contacting Dr. Andersson directly via email.
