Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD) has announced that registration is now open for its 4K and Kindergarten programs for the 2025-26 school year. The announcement was made in a press release on March 13, 2025.

According to KUSD, the district offers early education programs, including 4K, Head Start, and Early Childhood services, to support young learners' development. The 4K program provides half-day instruction in schools and partner childcare centers, while Head Start serves income-eligible families with resources and community outreach. Early Childhood programs assist children with special needs through individualized education plans. All early education classrooms use the Creative Curriculum System and Second Step to foster academic and social-emotional growth. Families can choose between school-based or childcare center options, with eligibility requirements varying by program.

The district has opened online registration for the 2025-26 school year, requiring all families to complete the process to ensure student records are accurate. New and returning students must register through the Parent Portal, providing emergency contacts, health details, and proof of residency. Schools will share event details such as open houses and welcome-back activities.

New students must submit an online application and provide additional documents, including a birth certificate, immunization records, and a parent/guardian’s ID at their school office. Returning students must review and update their information, with the option to add new siblings. Registration fees can be paid starting August 5, 2025, through Infinite Campus. Technical assistance is available for families needing support.

Established in 1967, Kenosha Unified School District serves the City of Kenosha, Village of Pleasant Prairie, and the Town and Village of Somers in southeastern Wisconsin. It operates 16 elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools, three charter schools, three choice schools, a specialty school, and a Head Start center. The district has a total enrollment of 19,069 students with an annual operational expenditure of approximately $304 million.
