Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD) has announced that KUSD Theatre will stage 'Really Rosie,' a musical centered on a spirited Brooklyn girl who brings her showbiz dreams to life with her friends. This announcement was made in a press release on April 8, 2025.

According to the press release, KUSD Theatre presents 'Really Rosie,' a musical written by Maurice Sendak with music by Carole King. The story follows Rosie, a spirited girl from Brooklyn’s Avenue P, who entertains herself and her friends by imagining herself as a showbiz star. The performance is scheduled at Bradford High School in Studio Room 150, with shows on May 8, 9, and 11. General admission is set at $15, while tickets for seniors, students, and staff are priced at $10.

The Kenosha Unified School District emphasizes theater arts education starting from elementary school with musical and operatic productions and continuing through middle and high school with curricular and extracurricular performances. The 2024-25 KUSD Theater program has assigned roles to all auditioning students, urging them to check cast lists carefully. Opportunities remain available for those interested in stage management or crew positions. Additional auditions for non-musical plays will occur throughout the school year.

Bradford High School serves grades 9-12 with over 1,500 students and 145 faculty members. Its school improvement plan aims for a 12% performance increase over three years by aligning instruction with grade-level standards, using assessment data to enhance teaching, and implementing behavior management systems. According to the Bradford High School website, the institution follows an "Every Kid, Every Day" motto that emphasizes student support through a freshman academy, intervention programs, and diverse academic offerings including over a dozen Advanced Placement (AP) courses.

The Kenosha Unified School District was established in 1967 and serves the City of Kenosha, Village of Pleasant Prairie, and the Town and Village of Somers in southeastern Wisconsin. It operates multiple educational institutions including elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, charter schools, choice schools, a specialty school, and a Head Start center.
