Tuesday, April 29 marked a significant event at KTEC High School with the celebration of its first Signing Day, dedicated to the achievements and future prospects of its senior class. The event involved contributions from industry and higher education partners, dedicated staff, and supportive families.

KTEC's partnerships with institutions such as Gateway Technical College and companies like Snap-on provide students with practical skills and industry exposure catering to high-demand jobs in Kenosha County and beyond.

Speakers at the event included Roger Tadajewski, Executive Director of NC3, Jeff Gaskill from Snap-on, Octavio Rojas from Festo Didactic US, and Matthew Janisin of Gateway Technical College.

The Class of 2025 secured a total of 299 college credits, averaging 32.7 credits per student, resulting in an average tuition saving of $6,285 per student. Graduates are preparing for various fields such as Diesel Equipment Mechanics, Baking, Nursing, Dental Assisting, Real Estate, Veterinary Care, Videography/Cinematography, Computer Programming, Advanced Manufacturing, Construction Trades, Welding, and Mental Health/Psychology, highlighting KTEC's commitment to career readiness.

In addition to the Signing Day, KTEC announced that two seniors, Rayna Soens and Blake Krauter, received the prestigious 3M Transformational Scholarship. This scholarship, in partnership with 3M’s Safety & Industrial Business Group and NC3, honors students pursuing careers in skilled trades, with only 51 scholarships awarded nationwide.

Blake Krauter, noted for his academic and technical excellence, earned 27 college credits, achieved multiple NC3 certifications, and holds a professional drone license. His accomplishments include leadership roles in KTEC SkillsUSA and a state championship in a drone team. He will join the Krones Mechatronics Apprenticeship to further his interest in robotics and automation.

Rayna Soens managed academic success while working three jobs, aiming for a career in nursing. She completed her CNA training, acquired 44 college credits, and plans to continue her studies at Gateway Technical College.

“This Signing Day symbolizes not just the success of our first senior class but the future we’re building together," stated Dr. Angela Andersson, Founder of KTEC Schools of Innovation. Starting in the 2025–2026 school year, KTEC will expand to include a new elementary and middle school on one campus, aiming for a 4K–12 experience that encourages innovation, creativity, and critical thinking.
