Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD) has announced the "Ready, Set, Learn!" event, scheduled to take place from May 28 to May 30. This initiative offers open houses for families with children entering 4K or Kindergarten.

According to KUSD, the event will be hosted at local elementary schools and provides an opportunity for families to explore the district’s educational programs. It will feature information on 4K, Kindergarten, and Head Start (for qualifying families), as well as interactive, play-based learning activities that highlight KUSD’s early education approach. Families can attend the event at any KUSD elementary school, regardless of boundary school, and participate in registration for the 2025–26 school year.

The district states that "Ready, Set, Learn!" will also provide families with valuable resources. These include a chance to meet daycare providers, wraparound child care services, and community resource organizations. Attendees can learn about school schedules, academic goals, and required learning expectations for 4K and Kindergarten students. Staff will be available to answer questions, offer tours of classrooms, and assist with the registration process both onsite and online.

Parents and guardians are required to bring necessary documentation for registration purposes. This includes proof of residency and identification. Additionally, the event will feature a giveaway where attendees can enter a drawing for a backpack filled with school supplies. The district describes this as an opportunity for families to connect with KUSD’s educational staff in preparation for the upcoming school year.

The Kenosha Unified School District was established in 1967 and serves various communities in southeastern Wisconsin including the City of Kenosha, Village of Pleasant Prairie, and the Town and Village of Somers. It operates multiple educational institutions comprising elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, charter schools, choice schools, a specialty school, and a Head Start center. The district reports a total enrollment of 19,069 students with an annual operational expenditure of approximately $304 million. It employs diverse staff members including 1,631 teachers and 1,365 hourly workers while maintaining a graduation rate of 87.4%.
