Kenosha Unified School District is set to host an event for families with young children called "Ready, Set, Learn!" The event, taking place from May 28 to 30, is aimed at families with children entering 4K and Kindergarten. "Whether your child will be entering 4K (age 4 on or before September 1) or Kindergarten (age 5 on or before September 1), this event is the perfect opportunity to discover what Kenosha Unified School District has to offer," states the invitation.
Families with children aged 3 and 4 can also inquire about the Head Start program, which is available to those who qualify. The events will be held across various elementary schools in the district. "You’re encouraged to attend your child’s boundary school, but if the scheduled date doesn’t work for you, feel free to join us at any other location," states the district.
At the event, attendees can expect information on academic goals, operational hours, and educational programs. The event will feature hands-on learning activities, classroom tours, and chances to meet representatives from partner daycares and wraparound childcare providers. There will also be opportunities to connect with community resources and the parent organization. A drawing for a backpack filled with school supplies will take place.
For convenience, onsite registration will be offered, during which staff will assist families with the process. "We’ll have computers and staff on hand to guide you through the registration process and answer any questions you may have," the school district assures, while also reminding participants of required documentation for registration, including proofs of identity and residency.
The event schedule is as follows: On Wednesday, May 28, events will occur at Curtis Strange, Nash, and Harvey Elementary schools. On Thursday, May 29, Bose, Whittier, LakeView K-8 Academy, Roosevelt, Grewenow, and Prairie Lane Elementary schools will hold the event. Friday, May 30, will see the event at Frank, Somers, Brass Community School, Forest Park, Pleasant Prairie, Southport, Grant, Kenosha School of Language, and Jeffery Elementary schools.
"We can’t wait to welcome you and your child to KUSD!" expresses the school district. For more information, families are encouraged to contact their child's boundary school.
