Shalom Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin, has been awarded a grant from the State of Wisconsin. The Safe Shelter and Homelessness Grant aims to support the center's mission of providing food, shelter, and other assistance to the local community. Shalom Center is noted for being the only homeless shelter in Kenosha County, as well as operating the largest food pantry and longest-running nightly meal program in the area.

In 2024, Shalom Center provided 21,002 nights of shelter, served 13,848 households through its food pantry, and fed 69,668 individuals via its soup kitchen.

Esther Roberts, Executive Director of Shalom Center, expressed gratitude for receiving the grant. "I am excited and honored that the Shalom Center was selected to receive this grant. I want to thank the State of Wisconsin for their support and for believing in our mission. I also want to thank Representative Ben DeSmidt for his assistance and advocacy throughout the grant process," she stated.
