The Northside Library at 1500 27th Ave. will operate under temporary hours starting July 31 due to an air conditioning outage. The library is making adjustments to ensure the health and safety of staff and patrons while continuing to provide services.

The new schedule allows for full service in the building from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by curbside service during the afternoon when the building is closed to the public. The building reopens for full service in the evening on weekdays. On Fridays and Saturdays, similar hours apply, with extended curbside-only periods in the afternoon. The library will remain closed on Sundays.

Repairs to install a new air conditioning unit are expected to take about two weeks, with normal hours projected to resume on August 15. Library officials note that these temporary hours may change if internal temperatures become unsafe, as conditions will be monitored regularly.

The Kenosha Public Library has served the community since 1900 through its five branches and two mobile libraries, offering access to physical and digital materials as well as programs for all ages. More information is available by calling (262) 564-6100 or visiting mykpl.info.

"Our high-speed free Wi-Fi extends into our parking lot and is always available," according to library officials.

These changes aim to maintain essential library services despite ongoing maintenance issues.
