The City of Kenosha has announced changes to waste collection services due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 1, 2025. There will be no curbside garbage, recycling, brush, tire or bulk collection on that day.

Collection services for all routes will be delayed by one day throughout the week. For example, those with regular Monday pickups will have their items collected on Tuesday, and Friday routes will be serviced on Saturday. The standard schedule is expected to resume during the week of September 8.

Residents needing special pickups for brush, tires or bulk garbage are advised to contact the Public Works Department at 653-4050 at least one working day before their regular collection date. The city noted that City Hall will be closed on September 1 in observance of the holiday and encouraged residents to plan ahead for any requests.

The Bulk Drop-Off Site at 1001 50th St. will also be closed on Monday and reopen Tuesday, September 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Bulk drop-off and tire tickets can be purchased in-person at City Hall (625 52nd St., Room 108) or online through the city's website by clicking the “Purchase Waste Tickets” button at www.kenosha.org.

Other affected facilities include the Yard Waste Drop-Off Site at 4071-88th Ave., which will close on September 1 and reopen with normal hours (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.) on September 2. The Concrete/Brick Drop-off Site located at 6415 35th Ave. will also close for the holiday and reopen Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For further information or questions about these service changes, residents are encouraged to call the Department of Public Works at 653-4050.
