A new group of participants has begun the Leadership Kenosha program for 2025–2026, starting with a two-day retreat aimed at building teamwork and leadership skills. The cohort's initial activity included a workshop using the Real Colors framework, led by Amy Greil, Executive Director of the Kenosha Community Foundation. This session was designed to help members understand their own leadership styles and how they interact within a team.
The program relies on collaboration with local organizations that act as project sponsors. For this cycle, Habitat for Humanity, Hope Council, Shalom Center, and the Sharing Center have partnered with Leadership Kenosha. These groups presented to participants and worked closely with them to prepare for their projects. Through these partnerships, participants gain practical experience while contributing to community initiatives in Kenosha County.
A highlight of the retreat was a team-building day at Outdoor Wisconsin Leadership School. During this event, cohort members engaged in activities that required creative thinking and effective communication. The session was facilitated by Tony Toto, who provided guidance throughout the exercises. According to recent alumni, this experience is often one of the most memorable parts of the program.
"His thoughtful guidance created an environment that challenged participants to grow while ensuring they felt supported," organizers stated about Toto’s role in the retreat.
Leadership Kenosha continues to focus on developing future leaders by combining educational workshops with real-world community engagement.
