Tina Elfering, a candidate for the Bristol School Board, has articulated her motivations and vision for the district's future. Residing in Bristol, Wisconsin, Elfering is an alumna of both Bristol Grade School and Westosha Central High School and holds an associate degree from Gateway Technical College. She currently works as a Mortgage Loan Partner and has been married to Michael Elfering for 17 years with two children.
Elfering presently serves as the President of the Bristol School Board. Her community involvement includes leadership roles in various local organizations such as the Bristol Challenge 4-H club and Westosha Youth Football. Her past community engagements have included participation in the Bristol Rec Softball league and serving as Secretary for the Kenosha County 4-H Council.
Reflecting on her tenure with the school board, Elfering stated: "Bristol School District #1 has turned the corner, but there is still a long way to go!" She noted dissatisfaction with curriculum priorities and staff divisiveness when she first joined. However, she expressed pride in recent achievements under her leadership: "In My One Year Leading the District, We Accomplished Much."
Elfering highlighted several goals moving forward: revising outdated policies, hiring a new District Administrator who aligns with community values, ensuring responsible budgeting practices, auditing previous expenditures on building projects, and implementing transparent accounting systems.
Emphasizing what she sees at stake in upcoming elections, Elfering warned against regressing: "Our community cannot afford to go backward." She encouraged voters to support her candidacy alongside Victor Nightengale.
The election will be held on April 1, 2025. Voters are urged to participate either through early voting or on Election Day itself. Information regarding registration deadlines and voting locations can be found on municipal websites or by visiting MyVote Wisconsin.
