Kenosha, WI (June 24, 2025) – The Shalom Center's HOPE HUB Community Center is adjusting its services to better address the community's needs. The focus will be on supporting individuals striving for stability and independence. The center aims to enhance its role as a warming and cooling facility during extreme weather conditions and increase efforts in preventing and diverting homelessness.

“Everything we do at Shalom Center is grounded in the goal of self-sufficiency,” said Esther Roberts, Executive Director. “This shift ensures that our resources are focused where they can have the greatest long-term impact for those we serve.”

Starting July 1, 2025, the HOPE HUB Community Center will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During these hours, essential facilities such as washers, dryers, and showers will be accessible for those experiencing homelessness. Staff will provide assistance with referrals and basic needs while offering supportive guidance. The center will maintain its function as a vital resource during periods of extreme weather. Additionally, diversion and prevention screenings will be available daily by phone and in person on specified days.
