Kenosha, Wisconsin — The Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood (KIN) and Wintrust Financial Corporation have announced the establishment of a new Wintrust Community Bank branch as the first private development on the 107-acre KIN site. This new branch will offer community-based banking solutions and include a conference room for community and nonprofit use, highlighting the bank's commitment to community service, financial education, and civic engagement.
The branch is part of State Bank of the Lakes, which has been instrumental in funding LakeView Technology Academy, a STEM high school near the site. Tim Mahone, Chair of the KIN Board, stated that this project aligns with KIN’s mission to drive economic development and expand educational opportunities. "We’re proud to welcome State Bank of the Lakes not only as a financial institution but as a true community partner," Mahone said.
Wintrust aims to increase access to capital and support small businesses through its branches. Mike Deney, President & CEO of State Bank of the Lakes, emphasized their belief in building strong communities through partnerships. "We are proud to partner with KIN to expand our services in Kenosha," Deney said.
City officials view this development as a positive signal for responsible growth in Kenosha. Mayor David Bogdala remarked that it represents more than just construction; it signifies momentum and shared vision. He commended State Bank of the Lakes for being proactive in joining this initiative.
Construction is set to begin later this year with an expected opening in 2026.
The Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood is transforming an industrial site into a hub for innovation and inclusive economic growth. It will host startups, established companies, research institutions, and civic amenities designed to connect people with opportunities.
