Elementary students and their families are invited to attend Pumpkin Science Night on Thursday, October 23. The event features hands-on science activities with pumpkins and will be held at several local schools. Each student who participates will receive a pumpkin to take home.

The event is open to all members of the community, not just those affiliated with the Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD). Organizers encourage everyone interested in family education programs to participate.

Pumpkin Science Night will take place at the following locations and times: Chavez Elementary (6300 27th Ave.), Harvey Elementary (2012 19th Ave.), KSOL (6315 67th St.), and Nash Elementary (6801 99th Ave.) from 5-6 p.m.; LakeView K-8 (6729 18th Ave.) and Prairie Lane (10717 47th Ave.) from 6-7 p.m.

For non-KUSD families and other community members, there is a requirement to join the Family Education Programs Community Group before registering for this event. After joining, participants will also receive information about future events without needing to rejoin the group.

Bose Elementary School enrolled a total of 256 students during the 2023-24 school year, which was a decrease of approximately 5.5% compared to the previous year, according to data from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction https://dpi.wi.gov/.

"We hope you join us for a night of science, discovery and pumpkin fun."
