"Angela Kretchmer's advocacy for parental rights and her personal insight as the mother of a special-needs son give her a powerful perspective on the needs of all our children," said Amber Infusino, Chair of Moms for Liberty - Kenosha County. "We stand behind Angela, believing she will make our voices heard and our rights respected."

Shortly after announcing her candidacy, Kretchmer, a single mother of four children, spoke at a November 2023 KUSD School Board meeting. Her comments offered insight into her campaign platform.

"We the parents have a right to know what is being taught to our students and that the information that is disseminated is cohesive with our family moral standards. We also deserve information in a timely manner [...] It is time to bring KUSD's focus back to basics. Reading, which includes phonics, grading on material that is unbiased and not worried about hurting students' feelings, math, and actual teaching that two plus two is four, materials in the school library that are age-appropriate [...] Those of you that do not want pornography in school, join the school board in fighting to rid our school communities of this licentiousness material. Take back our schools from the Marxist ideas of Critical Race Theory, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and rid the schools of pornography, which is geared toward grooming our children. Stop arguing with your neighbor and allowing the narrative of destabilization and division to impact our community," said Kretchmer.

As reported by Kenosha News, Kretchmer possesses a B.A. in political science with a law concentration from UW-Parkside and has experience as a middle school math teacher.

In addition to Moms for Liberty's endorsement, Kretchmer has also received backing from the Republican Party of Kenosha County, according to its post on Facebook.

The KUSD School Board's election notice states that four Board positions will be available due to current members' terms ending. The top three candidates receiving the most votes will each secure three-year terms expiring April 25, 2027. Meanwhile, the candidate with the fourth-highest vote count will be awarded a two-year term ending on April 26, 2026.
