Kenosha County Clerk Regi Waligora has announced a Special Event Passport Day scheduled for Saturday, March 22, at the Kenosha County Center in Bristol. The event aims to facilitate U.S. citizens planning international travel by allowing them to apply for passports from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. without prior appointments.

The event will accept passport applications for first-time and minor applicants on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. Services such as passport photo taking and Spanish-language translation will be available on-site.

The Kenosha County Center is located at 19600 75th St., at the intersection of highways 45 and 50. Waligora stated, "As many families are preparing for spring break and summer travel plans, this is a great opportunity for the County Clerk’s Office to bring a valuable service to our residents in the western portion of our county." She added that those unable to attend can still process their applications daily at the downtown office by scheduling an appointment.

Walk-ins during the March 22 event will be assisted on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants are encouraged to access forms in advance from the U.S. Department of State website, although forms will also be available on-site. Waligora mentioned, “It helps to speed up the application process if the forms are completed prior to attending the event, but we will also have forms available on-site.”

Waligora clarified that other offices within the County Center would not be open during this event, including access to vital records through the Elected Officials Satellite Office.

Additionally, Waligora advised against paying for passport applications online when downloading them, as they are free through official government channels. “You may also contact the County Clerk’s office and we will email you the correct application form,” she said. “There are fees to apply, but there are not fees for copies of the passport application itself.”

For further information or assistance with applications, questions about fees or documentation requirements, individuals can contact the Kenosha County Clerk’s Office at 262-653-2552 or via email.
